Growth Mindset Activity Bundle Upper Grades

Foster a growth mindset in your students in a creative way with this bundle of 3 different resources, including a Growth Mindset drama activity, Growth Mindset Cursive Writing pages, and Growth Mindset Craft.

•Growth Mindset Drama Circle - This Drama Circle takes your students through an exploration of fixed versus growth mindset. Drama Circles are a fun drama activity that can be used during drama activities, morning meetings, oral language activities, reading fluency practice, cooperative learning activities, etc. There are 40 cards, that follow in a sequence, with each card having a different instruction and saying to read, related to growth mindset. Students assemble in a circle to perform their scenarios. As each student finishes acting out his or her card, the student with the next card in the sequence starts acting out his or her card. The game continues until the last card is acted out.

•Growth Mindset Cursive Writing - These printables are meant to practice cursive writing – not to teach it step by step. Students will first read the quote related to growth mindset, then trace it with the help of dotted letters, and then write it on their own. From there, they will reflect on what they think the quote means, and then connect to it, explaining how it applies to their own life. The “reflect” and “connect” boxes can either be completed in cursive writing or printing – whichever best fits the needs of your students. * Printing AND Cursive writing pages are now included in this resource.

There are 40 different quotes included – so students can complete one per week. Students can complete these printables as part of a writing center, as bell-work once a week, as part of a character education lesson, or any other way they would fit into your classroom. Completed printables can be kept in a folder, displayed on a character education bulletin board, or sent home with students as a discussion starter with parents.

•Growth Mindset Craftivity - Get your students thinking about their thinking with this growth mindset craftivity. This resource focuses on the differences between fixed and growth mindset. There are 6 panels, each with a different question to answer. There is also a blank template panel if you want to add your own question. Students will answer the questions on each panel, cut out and decorate the panels (we colored only the growth mindset side of each panel for effect), and then assemble the resource into a 3D activity, perfect for display.

This resource contains options for two different sizes – one on full sheets (great for display in a larger area or to write longer, more in depth answers), and one on half sheets (great for smaller display areas with a smaller area for writing). Print only the size you need. You need 6 individual panels to create the craftivity. I have included the 6 panels plus a blank template for both sizes – the blank template can be used to add your own question, or use as a cover page in case you want to assemble the craftivity into a flip-book format rather than a 3D resource.
