What educators are saying

I enjoyed how this gave the option to use colour or the black and white option. We ended up going with just the black and white option and students found it easy to follow. Challenging to draw but easy to follow!

Description

IIncludes five different grid drawing handouts from five different women artists including Frida Kahlo, Berthe Morisot, Tamara de Lempicka, Georgia O'Keefe, and Grandma Moses. There are two versions included: color images and black and white images. The black and white images have been rendered in black and white and edited to make drawing the image much more feasible. The black and white images also work better when printing with laser printers. The color images are less economical to print, but maintain the original look of the work.

Each handout comes in a separate .pdf file and are ready to print! These are excellent worksheets for students to practice left brain thinking, learning to observe, drawing skills, and learning about women in art history. These handouts also make excellent sub lesson plans or enrichment activities for students who finish early.

The included drawing handouts are:
-"Self Portrait with Monkeys" by Frida Kahlo 1940
-"Portrait in Green Bugatti" by Tamara de Lempicka 1925
-"Julie Daydreaming" by Berthe Morisot 1894
-"Bringing in the Maple Syrup" by Grandma Moses 1939
-"From the Faraway, Nearby" by Georgia O'Keefe 1938

Each handout has the example that has already been gridded off. The blank grid to the right allows students to practice their drawing and observational skills. This is an excellent activity for students to practice before a larger scale grid drawing. I have found that many of my more hesitant artists end up loving this handout because it allows them to feel successful.

Please note: This listing does not include a lesson plan and includes the handouts only.
