What educators are saying

I liked using this resource as a way to introduce the grid drawing system to beginning drawing students.
Fantastic "print and go" activity! Great for grid practice as well as for leaving as last minute sub plans!

Description

Includes five different grid drawing handouts from different periods in history. Each handout comes in a separate .pdf file and are ready to print! These are excellent worksheets for students to practice left brain thinking, learning to observe, drawing skills, and learning about art history.

The included time periods are:
-Ancient Egypt "King Tut's Mask" from 1323 B.C.
-Medieval Art "Bayeux Tapestry" from 1070s A.D.
-Baroque Art "Girl with a Pearl Earring" by Jans Vermeer 1665 A.D.
-Impressionism "Self-Portrait" by Vincent Van Gogh 1887 A.D.
-Pop Art "Campbell's Tomato Soup Can" by Andy Warhol 1962 A.D.

Each handout has the example that has already been gridded off. The blank grid to the right allows students to practice their drawing and observational skills. I have found that many of my more hesitant artists end up loving this handout because it allows them to feel successful. These handouts also make excellent sub lesson plans or enrichment activities for students who finish early.
