Greenhouse in a Ziploc Baggie

Students explore a variety of bean seeds (using dried beans from 16 Bean Soup Mix) and create an investigation to determine what materials are needed to support growth (and if they will grow at all!). During the investigation students will practice the steps of the Scientific Method on their lab sheet which includes writing a hypothesis, making observations, collecting data and communicating their conclusions.

Students will learn that seeds contain the materials needed to develop into a plant if provided with sun and water. They will also gain an understanding of the life cycle of the bean plant.

Your students will be so excited to watch their greenhouses come to life! Perfect way to view seeds developing roots, shoots and leaves.
