What educators are saying

This was a great project to end our unit. My students really enjoyed getting to choose and research someone they were interested in. I will definitely be using this again.
This is a great final project for a mythology unit as they do research, practice using slideshow software, and make a Works Cited page.

Description

This Greek Mythology Research Project featuring Greek Gods and Goddesses allows your students' creativity to shine! They'll be much more engaged creating this Greek mythology flip book instead of writing a research paper or doing yet another slides presentation!

This unique research project is appropriate for 7th-12th grades and will take approximately 2-3 days to complete.

Selecting a Research Topic

Prior to creating flipbooks, students select a Greek God, Goddess, or Mythological Figure to research. A list of sample topics is included in this resource. Students are provided with an entire research packet for this project. This lesson has been prepped and planned for you!

Greek Mythology Research Packet

Along with sample research topics, the student packet contains a note-taking chart with quiding questions to answer and research links to relevant sites!

Students will use the digital note-taking chart to record relevant details. The chart includes the following guiding research topics:

✅Identify the Origin of the Greek God, Goddess, or Mythological Figure

✅List Symbols for the God or Goddess and Explain What They Represent

✅Summarize an Adventure or an Episode that Involves your God or Goddess

The structured research areas are clearly defined on the Greek Mythology Digital Research Chart. This will keep your students focused and their research notes organized!

Creating a Flipbook Using a Slides Template & Research Charts

After conducting research, students will design a flip book featuring their research notes and relevant images. The flip book template is provided. All students need is access to Google Slides or Microsoft Power Point!

The template is locked; the text boxes, however, are editable! Students can choose their own fonts, insert their research notes in the text boxes, and insert relevant pictures on each page. You can also modify the topics specified in the flipbook tabbed areas if desired!

Directions for printing and assembly are included! Use this as a stand-alone short-term research project or pair with Homer's Odyssey, the Illiad, Lightning Thief, or Edith Hamilton's Mythology.

The following materials are included with this resource:

  • PDF Teacher's Guide with Drive resource links and Implementation Tips
  • Directions for Microsoft Office users
