Description
This product tells the Greek myth of how man gained fire. It describes how Prometheus created man, stole fire, and angered Zeus. It also describes the fate of Prometheus. A few variations of the myth are also mentioned.
A PDF worksheet, a link to download the worksheet in Google Slides, an optional worksheet with ten multiple-choice questions, an answer key, and a link to download the questions as a Google Form are all included.
At the end of the text, there are three extended response questions:
1. Why did Zeus not want to share fire with men?
2. How important do you feel fire is to humankind? Where would we be without it?
3. If you were in Prometheus's situation and Zeus offered to free you in exchange for revealing the prophecy of who would dethrone him, would you do it? Why or why not?
Since extended responses can vary, there is no answer key for those.
