Greek & Latin Root Word of the Week/Word of the Day Program BUNDLE WITH Quizzes
Products in this Bundle (3)
Description
I created this vocabulary program for use within both an elementary and middle school building. Our district's vocabulary scores were on the low side, so I decided to combine Greek and Latin root studies with a daily word of the day. I am now wrapping up our 2nd year using this program and will start over at the beginning of my 2 year word rotation next Fall. Please message me with any implementation questions!
THE PROGRAM INCLUDES:
1. (49 total) Google Drawing posters for each week's root and associated words. You can share out weekly posters with teachers to display on their interactive boards. Also, use the files to print out full-size color posters to laminate and place in the hallway.
2. (49 total) Weekly self-grading Google Forms quizzes over weekly words
3. Daily announcement scripts for approximately 2 school years' worth of weekly root words. This could be implemented by individual teachers or incorporated into daily intercom announcements.
4. Master list of roots with definitions
5. Master list of roots with their associated words
POSTERS:
Easily use rasterbator.net to turn the included image files of weekly posters into full-size printable posters as large as you would like. I created 3 by 3-page color posters for each week and hung them when students would pass them each week. Laminate them and reuse them year after year.
WEEKLY QUIZZES:
Simply make copies of the weekly Google Form quizzes and shared them with your building. I would instruct 4th-8th grade students to complete quizzes at the end of the week, and would then give out prizes for a few students each week that earned a 100%.
