Description

"Grammar in Life - Parts of Speech and Sentences" is one of six PowerPoint presentations on an aspect of grammar, punctuation, capitalization and usage. Suitable for junior high and high school regular students as well as high school and college students and adults who need a review of basic grammar or must learn it for the first time.

Definitions and examples of the eight parts of speech, parts of a sentence, six basic sentence patterns, explanation of fragments and run-on sentences and how to avoid them. Subject-verb agreement. Uses color coding to help students identify agreement between pronouns.

Links to engaging School House Rock videos on YouTube that children will enjoy and older students and adults will remember from their childhood or their children or grand-children's childhoods. Videos links for all parts of speech and the parts and structure of basic sentences.

Has been quite effective with working adults in pre-college programs who lack a solid foundation in grammar.
