What educators are saying

This was a great resource to get students up, moving, collaborating, and sharing with the class! Very engaging! Thank you!
I ended up teaching distance learning summer school for some classes, and this resource has been a lifesaver. The kids were apprehensive about filming videos to "teach" their lessons but it worked out great and everyone was super respectful of each other.

Description

We learn by DOING and by TEACHING others. Transform your grammar instruction by putting STUDENTS in the role of teacher!

In this project, student groups collaborate to design and record their own SHORT videos (1-5 minutes) teaching one focused grammar concept to their peers. The project can take place in as little as one week, depending on how much class time you give and your available technology.

Once made, these videos can:

• be played in class (followed by your instruction/lesson)

• be played in class (as a bell-ringer or short review)

• securely posted in your class website for HW/ the flipped classroom

• be played for just one class, or viewed across class periods/grade levels

• saved by you as treasures to show in future years!

In the three years that I did this project with 8th graders, 90% said they felt it dramatically impacted their understanding of grammar, and 94% said they would do the project again (measured by end of year survey). The videos they made have become an annual treasure that I save for other classes to watch! Let students surprise you with their creativity!
