What educators are saying

My students really enjoyed these worksheets. I appreciate the scaffolding and all the carryover ideas. I like to have the students complete a few of the exercises and then send them home for practice. Great resource; highly recommend.
My student enjoyed working through this packet. It is nice how it scaffolds skills and makes it easy for follow-up home work once the skill is mastered in the speech room.

What Should I Do in Therapy while Practicing These Worksheets?

You may have noticed that these worksheets aren't going to take up a full 30-minute therapy session to complete. That's because we're streamlining the therapy process. Children with speech and language disorders need repetition and simplicity, especially in the beginning stages of learning a new skill.

However, I know that students get bored as well. Go through the child's current page of this packet once at the beginning of the session, then pick out something to do while you practice. You can play a game, build with legos, draw, etc. While you do that activity, continue to practice the words/skills on the worksheet over and over again. It may seem repetitive but this is what builds those brain pathways!

Another option is to shorten your sessions to 5-minute sessions. You can often get more reps in during 5 minutes of drill work than you can in a full 30-minute group session because you don't have to add in all of the games and fluff. Set a 5-minute timer and see how many times your client can practice the words on the worksheet. When the timer is done, you send them back to class. That's it! Who is this For?

    • Speech-Language Pathologists: These kits are perfect for use in your 1:1 or group therapy sessions to help a child learn these skills. You can also send these pages to classroom teachers and caregivers to facilitate carry-over once the skill has been established.
    • Caregivers and Educators: Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) are specially trained to help children learn to use new speech and language skills. However, once the child starts to get the hang of it, this packet can be used to encourage carry-over at home and in the classroom. Check with the child's SLP to see if they are ready to work on something like this packet!
