What educators are saying

The cards offer a way for my 5th grade intervention students to discuss and use homophones which doesn't feel babyish. We've had some good discussions and I can easily see where we need to practice a bit more!
My students enjoyed using this resource and were very engaged. I liked that I can use it digitally or paper based. Thanks!

Description

If your students need consistent practice to strengthen grammar and language skills, these task cards are for you! These activities will give them lots of practice with synonyms, antonyms, homophones, prefixes, suffixes, and parts of speech. Get even more review activities and save with the Mixed Skills Review Bundle.

These 40 task cards will have students working with synonyms, antonyms, homophones, affixes, and parts of speech. Each card has one or two tasks for the specified topic. For example, they may be given a pair of homophones and a task to complete a sentence with the correct homophone, and then create their own sentence using the other homophone. ⭐️ What you'll get

  • Set of 40 printable task cards: (8 of each: synonyms, antonyms, homophones, affixes, and parts of speech).

  • Answer keys with examples of possible answers.

  • Response sheets

  • Two paperless / ink-saving options: (1) Google Slides: Students fill in blanks or drag and drop items. (2) Google Slides version for presentation only. This is useful if you wish to project individual tasks for class discussion and/or for written response.

  • Instructions for assigning the slides in Google Classroom

⭐️ These task cards are convenient and versatile: This resource includes both printable and digital options. I find that students prefer task cards over worksheets because they are working with one task at a time, and not overwhelmed by a larger assignment. You can control the number of tasks to present at one time. Choose one or more and use them as bell ringers, in centers, as a brain break, or any time you have a few extra minutes for a spiral review to keep the concepts fresh. The simple and clean design makes them appropriate to use with a variety of ages and grades, including adult English learners.
