Description

Grammar Camp is a fun, themed mini-unit for many ages. It could serve as a catch-all grammar review or as an introduction to important grammar concepts. This mini-unit allows you to go on a pretend camping trip, where you'll visit four exciting sites. At The Camp, students review basic grammar rules about capitalization and commas. At The Stream, students learn about and practice correct spelling. In The Woods, students grapple with apostrophes and homophones. At The Lake, students encounter parts of speech--nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. Students work in groups to make their way through each station and learn all about grammar!

At each station, students complete a short lesson (either on Pear Deck or video), followed by a themed work packet. Answer keys are included for all work done during the stations! This unit also contains an optional end project. Students choose a type of grammar project (children's book, slideshow, poster, escape room, or board game) to complete and show off! Once projects are finished, students view their peers' work in a gallery walk format. Rubric, directions, and gallery walk response sheet are included!

This unit is ready to go with Google Drive files that can be uploaded directly to your Canvas page or Google Classroom or be printed. There are also links to videos for students to watch at their stations, as well as a link to a ready-to-present Pear Deck for The Camp station. Files are completely editable, once a copy of your own is made.
