Like reading groups, these math pre-tests, which can accompany Eureka math, allow you as a teacher to differentiate your math groups per module, instead of tracking students as low/medium/high the entire school year. 

We all know that students bring their experiences and capabilities into the classroom. By being purposeful in your groupings, you are building a culturally responsive and learner variability-oriented classroom community! Each assessment has 1-2 questions per target standard of the module. 

These quick pre-assessments are simple and easy to implement and allow you to create groupings quickly. The questions follow Common Core standards and ensure you use your curriculum to fidelity.
