Grade 6/5 Space Unit BUNDLE - NEW Alberta Curriculum - Science 5 and 6

This bundle contains two complete SPACE units, as well as a 6/5 combined class unit outline. It is perfect for teachers who are teaching science to multiple classes at the grade 5 and 6 level, or for teachers with a combined 6/5 class who are teaching both grade level outcomes.

*These units align with the NEW Alberta curriculum (2023). Current Alberta (1996 curriculum) units are also available in our shop.

The 6/5 unit outline is a suggested sequence of lessons to combine the two units in a cohesive way for a 6/5 combined class. It contains twenty-six suggested lessons, including both whole class and separate grade activities. Both grades will complete all of their grade level learner outcomes if used as suggested. Included is a bonus Bill Nye: The Moon student sheet.

Each complete unit contains:

1. Teacher Guide: Lesson by lesson unit outline including the learner outcomes addressed, suggested activity sequence, and suggested assessment ideas; a list of materials needed as well as alternate activity ideas if materials are not available; and a list of the learner outcomes from the NEW Alberta curriculum (2023) matching which lessons in the unit address each expectation. PDF format only.

2. Student Workbook: The student workbook includes a vocabulary list, a student friendly version of the skills and procedures to track student learning, notes, questions, experiments, and activities needed for the lessons, and a study guide for the unit test. PDF and Google Slides formats included.

3. Activities & Assessments: Includes a student project, and a three page unit test. Google Slides and Google Forms versions of the unit test are included.

4. Answer Key: An answer key is included for most student activities and the unit test. PDF format only.

The PDF files contain links to digital versions of the student workbook and unit test. These files must be opened in Google Drive. You will need a Google account to access.
