Description

This unit on Weather meets the requirements of the Saskatchewan Grade 5 Science outcomes and indicators. There are three units included, one for each of the following outcomes:

WE5.1: Measure and represent local weather, including temperature, wind speed and direction, amount of precipitation, sunlight, relative humidity, and cloud cover

WE5.2: Investigate local, national, and global weather conditions, including the role of air movement and solar energy transfer

WE5.3: Analyze the impact of weather on society and the environment, including technologies that help humans address weather conditions

There are 7 lessons for Outcome 1, 8 lessons for Outcome 2 and 5 lessons for Outcome 3. All have descriptions of what the teachers can do and how students are expected to perform. There are some indicators in this unit that can be combines with Social Studies so that students can achieve the outcomes of both subjects.
