About the Content
Throughout this supplemental resource, students explore the properties of light and sound. Students learn that there are natural and artificial sources of light as well as living things and objects that emit their light and those that reflect light from other sources. Students investigate how we make use of the properties of light and sound in our daily lives. Students explore the devices and sensory organs that we have that make use of the properties of light and sound. Students, with the assistance of external materials such as prisms and tuning forks, explore the properties of light and sound.
As with other Science topics, students are asked to relate their knowledge and understanding to their own lives and the world around them. As such, students also explore the impacts on society and the environment of technological innovations related to light and sound.
