Grade 3 Pioneers Activity Set | Grade 3 Social Studies | English Version

This is a set of 4 activities (centres) with one final activity students are responsible to do after completing the 4 centres. Students will read little blurbs about different aspects of pioneer life (villages, the role of children, the relationship between the indigenous and pioneers, a "sketch" of pioneer life - involving outside sources). Students will respond to the information they learn at each station with different activities.

All four aspects of the Growing Success document (Knowledge, Thinking, Communication, Application) are present in this activity set. These activities are aligned with the Ontario Social Studies Curriculum for Grade 3 and cover most of the curriculum expectations referring to Pioneers.
