Description

This Excel spreadsheet helps you enter, score, and analyze results from the Grade 1, Unit 4 assessments for CKLA Skills (both the regular end-of-unit tests and the mid-year benchmarks). This tracker works for both first edition and second edition of Skills.

The Unit 4 assessments are Dictation and Grammar. Students spell words you dictate, demonstrating their ability to match sounds and spellings for r-controlled vowels, and they identify nouns, verbs, and contractions in a written test. I've set up these two tabs to rearrange results into groups so you can see performance at a glance.

The Mid-Year assessment consists of Reading Comprehension and Word Reading in Isolation. Students read the passage "Amber the Bat" independently and answer multiple-choice questions to demonstrate understanding. They also meet with you one-on-one to read a list of 60 words containing spellings learned so far. (This document has a simple tab to enter the total words correct out of 60 on the Word Reading in Isolation test. My other document is a complete tracker for the Word Reading test, with automatic calculations and reports by sound.)

After you've entered scores, you get two great reports: the Whole-Class Summary displays all students' scores along with a designation of "Met" or "Did Not Meet" the threshold for proficiency. The Student Report tab allows you to select one student's name from the menu and see personalized graphs and scores. This is useful for cumulative folders, portfolios, and parent conferences!

Please enjoy!
