Grade 1-8 Core French Theme Unit Planning Outline

This is an outline with recommended themes by grade that one can use to plan a year plan. I am currently adding units that will match this outline as it is more specific towards Saskatchewan curriculum.

However, you do not need to be in Saskatchewan to use this as the themes are adaptable to all classrooms. I hope to have all units for this outline available by end of this school year.

Now, to complete all these units, a teacher would have the recommended time for French classes as stated in the Saskatchewan curriculum. If you do not, you will most likely only get 4-5 units in during a school term. You can plan accordingly and the ones you do not complete, you can the following year.

This is a plan only and it can be changed to meet your yearly goals.

You will note I also list the "Level" of the unit. In the Saskatchewan curriculum, the units are levels, instead of grades as not all schools start Core French at Grade 1. Think of the levels are years of French instruction - Level 1 - first year of French language instruction; Level 2 - second year of French level instruction; etc.
