Gordon Parks’ Prodgies is a black history activity that simulates a photo assignment similar to what a photographer or photojournalist would experience in the real world. Upon completion of the photo assignment, students will be required to submit a written narrative to accompany their photograph. This low-prep activity is a perfect combination of black history and foundational writing skills. Along with the narrative response, students will be able to discover photography as well as recall and infer key information about a historical figure.
