Google Slides Template- Parts of a Cell

Use google classroom to distribute this google slides template to your students!

The template helps guide students to understand more about the structures and functions of an animal cell. There are two types of slide formats available for you to differentiate your lessons.

The activity is great to use as a guided exploration of cellular organelles. The students could work individually or with partners to complete this assignment. The assignment can be assigned as enrichment for younger students at a computer center. The activity could lead to more hands-on activities such as creating a concrete model of the cell or cell city!

For years I have been doing a cell city project with my students and this past year I found using this template helped focused my students research. The students used the Google Slides as a template to build their own concrete models of a cell city and travel brochures.

The Google Slides application has an explore tab on the bottom right side of the screen that allows students to search for pictures or information about the organelles The information pops up in a new tab so students can tab back and forth between research and design!

The organelle slides included are:

Cell Membrane

Cell Wall

Nucleus

Cytoplasm

Ribosome

Endoplasmic Reticiulum

Mitochondria

Golgi Bodies

Vacuoles

Lysosomes

Each slide includes text boxes included for students to insert their research and keep it organized. The slides are editable for students to individualize with their own colors, fonts, and backgrounds.

This provided outline gives younger students a safe place to learn how to create an organized and appealing presentation. Also the older students or students who are more comfortable with Google Slides can individualize their slide show!
