Description

I made this product for my Pop Culture in American History Class!

I wanted a product on the subject that approached it through a historical lens!

I needed a product that touched on the both the major cultural and historical elements of the Golden Age of Hollywood without getting bogged down in weeks worth of detail. I also wanted to ensure I integrated reading and primary sources

In this product you will find.

  • 24 PowerPoint slides touching on the major historical and cultural aspects of the Golden Age of Hollywood

  • Student friendly guided notes
    • One guided note sheet for historical context (Depression and WW2), if your class doesn't need this, it can be taken out without an issue)
    • Two guided note sheets about the Golden Age, with emphasis on color, animation, studios, and film genres.
    • One guided notes sheet to detail Hollywood's role in World War Two

  • Two primary source film reviews: Wizard of Oz from 1939 & Citizen Kane from 1941. (two sides each)
    • Film reviews have questions integrated into the text to better guide students
    • Worksheet so they can synthesize the information in the reviews

To supplement this product further, feel welcome to download my free viewing guides on Citizen Kane and Wizard of Oz!

This is the only comprehensive product on the Golden Age of Hollywood on TPT as of now. I hope you enjoy!
