What educators are saying

My scholars LOVED this. I was able to edit everything and make it work for my scholars. What an amazing resource to have and use as a fun review.
This is hands-down one of the best purchases I've made on TPT. Buy it. It's engaging. It's fun. It's a lot of setup. It's 100% worth it. I will be doing this Math review glow day every single year as a state testing review.

Description

UPDATED April 2024.

This pack now includes the original glow games, but it also includes a mixed glow games pack that is perfect for teachers that teach multiple classes and only have 1-2 hours to complete Glow Day with each class. In this version each group will carry around a stack of mixed review task cards from station to station with them. Stations can be changed out based on what you have available in your classroom and based on what your students will enjoy the most!

Glow Day is a classroom transformation that I completed in my 5th grade classroom at the end of the school year as a mixed-skill math review. I transformed our classroom using black lights and glow sticks purchased on Amazon. Full details about the items I used in my transformation can be found on my blog – Adventures of Ms. Smith.

I set up four-five stations around my classroom and explained each station to all of my students. My students each received a recording booklet that they worked in all day. This booklet was taken up and graded. You can choose the stations that work best for your classroom! I encourage you to think outside the box too! With blacklight tape and paint you can turn literally any game into a GLOW DAY game.

Now that I am departmentalized, I have realized that it is better for students to have ONE stack of task cards that travels with their group from station to station. You will need one set of task cards connected with a binder clip for each group you have. Students stayed at each station for 20-30 minutes. Students could have stayed in each such much longer, so you could possibly complete this over two days if necessary. My goal was to provide my students with enough work that they wouldn’t run out of things to do. I only graded my students on the tasks that they completed, as long as I saw them working the entire class.

*The original, not mixed task card PDF file is still available in this download for those that liked that version and want to keep things the same. = )
