Description
Help students get into the holiday spirit by hosting a gingerbread house competition! Students will get to build and decorate their own gingerbread house made of graham crackers and other ingredients of their liking. Please note that the ingredients are not included. Students can build the gingerbread houses individually, as partners, or in small groups. This is a perfect addition to a Christmas activity or winter craft.
Students will receive a design sheet to help them map out exactly how they want their gingerbread house to look. They will also get an assembly sheet to walk them through building their house. A rubric for this activity is provided. Ballots and award certificates are also included for the teacher to use Teachers can decide to not make this activity a competition and just focus on the design, assembly and writing portion of the lesson.
