What educators are saying
Description
My husband (an AP Government and AP US History teacher) and I created this resource as a civic competency lesson and activity. In the United States, we, more often than not, have artificially noncompetitive elections due to gerrymandering. The intent of this resource is to teach your students about the effects of gerrymandering on elections and how to analyze their congressional district. Students will search congressional district maps to identify gerrymandered United States House Districts. Then, they will analyze their chosen map with tasks and questions to determine the effect of the gerrymandering on the United States democratic and electoral process.
There are many ways to use this digital interactive notebook in your classroom. It is compatible with Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive and includes directions for each. A short video tutorial is also included to assist with saving your document to Google Classroom.
