The resources explore the SS8G1, SS8G2, SS8E1, SS8E2, SS8E3, and SS8E4 standards and elements. The documents explore the following key economics and geography concepts:

• Entrepreneurship in Georgia

• Trade (Imports and Exports)

• Tax Revenue and State and Local Services

• Transportation and Georgia’s Economy (Ports of Brunswick and Savannah, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Railways, and Interstates and Highways)

• 5 Regions of Georgia (Blue Ridge Mountains, Valley and Ridge, Appalachian Plateau, Piedmont, and Coastal Plain)

• Georgia’s Climate’s Impact on Its Economy

• Key Physical Features of Georgia (Fall Line, Okefenokee Swamp, Appalachian Mountains, Chattahoochee and Savannah Rivers, and Barrier Islands)

These document based questions are excellent supplements for helping students understand the application of the social studies principles they learn in class. The document based questions challenge their thinking and extend their learning by helping them learn how to read maps, diagrams, and reference materials.
