What is a Geometry Talk?
Geometry Talks are an activity you can do with your whole class to build spatial and geometric thinking.
Students analyze images of shapes and share their thought process.
Let’s face it, geometry units can be very difficult for many students.
Combining the visual prompts and the discourse generated from your talks will give your students the extra boost they need to conceptually understand and compare shapes.

Why use Fraction Talks in your classroom?
Most of us start our geometry unit towards the end of the year. And if you’re anything like me, you start the unit in a state of panic a few weeks before state testing. You rush through all of the geometry standards so you can breathe a sign of relief as you say “Well, I covered all of my curriculum before the test!”
But your geometry unit shouldn’t be completed hastily….it shouldn’t be a last-minute thought.
Geometry should be exploratory.
Students need time to play, interact with, and evaluate shapes.
