Looking for QR code activities to make math more engaging? Simply cut out and laminate these geometry cards and place in a center with a device that can read QR codes (iPod Touch, iPad, tablet, or laptop/desktop with a camera). Students get immediate feedback when they scan the QR codes.

This set includes 32 task cards with self-checking QR codes that cover the following skills:

Cards 1-8: Identify the polygon (parallelogram, right triangle, octagon, rectangle, hexagon, trapezoid, square, pentagon).

Cards 9-12: Identify the type of angle (acute, obtuse, right, straight).

Cards 13-18: Identify the type of line (line, line segment, ray, parallel/perpendicular/intersecting lines).

Cards 19-24: Find the area/find the length of the missing side.

Cards 25-30: Find the perimeter/find the length of the missing side.

Cards 31-32: How many lines of symmetry?

A student recording sheet, answer key, and one-page (6 question) quick assessment are included. Relate area to the operations of multiplication and addition.
Solve real world and mathematical problems involving perimeters of polygons, including finding the perimeter given the side lengths, finding an unknown side length, and exhibiting rectangles with the same perimeter and different areas or with the same area and different perimeters.
Apply the area and perimeter formulas for rectangles in real world and mathematical problems. For example, find the width of a rectangular room given the area of the flooring and the length, by viewing the area formula as a multiplication equation with an unknown factor.
Understand that shapes in different categories (e.g., rhombuses, rectangles, and others) may share attributes (e.g., having four sides), and that the shared attributes can define a larger category (e.g., quadrilaterals). Recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and draw examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories.
