Description

This resource has become a central focus of my class with overwhelmingly positive feedback from students, parents, and other teachers.
An interactive note page with "flipable" 3x5 cards (sometimes cut in half) summarizing the important concepts from high school geometry. May be adjusted for your classes (unit titles, names, and layout) with minimum editing.
Included is an editable (word) document with the flipbook form (print on card stock for best results). Also attached are files with completed examples of each note card and the final product! Note: Not all units lent themselves to note cards so their page includes an outline to fill in as a summary.
In my regular Geo classes, we build these together. We add the next important formula/fact/concept as we go through. I do collect these prior to tests and grade them on completion. Students can complete one of these flipbooks independently for each unit for advanced classes. Perfect to separate sections of notes in binders and easy to pull together at the end of the year to review for the state test or final exam. Students actually keep these to assist with possible future courses in with rave reviews!
This Geometry Flipbook was my first creation. I ended up teaching many of the same students the next year in Algebra 2. Strange thing was, they were really upset that I hadn’t set this up for their class! I have since incorporated this idea into other classes with great success. I have presented this at county math days and this is now used by most in my department and several teachers in the county. Lots of work to get these together, I hope they add to your classroom in a positive and productive way!
Concepts covered, each on one page:
Tools of Geometry (distance, midpoint, slope and basic definitions and notation)
Reasoning and Proof
Parallel and Perpendicular (includes polygon angle sum)
Congruent Triangles
Relationships in Triangles (perpendicular/angle bisectors, medians, altitude, triangle inequality)
Quadrilaterals
Area and Circle properties
Similarity and Pythagorean Thm
Right Triangles and Trig
Arc and angle relationships in circles.

*** Recommend using your states formula sheet as a cover page when pulling it all together!
