GENETICS Independent Study

GENETICS Independent Study is a motivational, challenging, individualized semester (or shorter) curriculum-plan written according to Bloom’s Taxonomy. Human Anatomy promotes higher-level thinking for middle or high school students.

The products produced in this Independent Study can range from written papers, lab reports, posters, mobiles, three-dimensional models, oral presentations, photograph, videos, power point presentations, slide shows, bulletin boards, puppet shows or even a song on the topic put to music. This diversity allows students to apply personal talents.

Knowledge of career opportunities is gained while observing professions. Working independently students explore areas of interests and gain valuable hands-on experience.

Upon completing their Independent Study students report feeling prepared to take on advanced courses due to the self discipline and organizational skills they have learned. Students take ownership in what they are doing and I have found their self-motivation to be phenomenal!
