Description

Hey Friends!

This is a good activity for upper elementary, middle or high school students to visualize how their actions and effort will impact their future.

I created this resource to try and help motivate my students and encourage them to work towards the goals they set during our fitness unit.

I know from personal experience the value that comes with taking time to think about your future self and learning to visualize how the decisions you make now will impact the things you are able to accomplish in the future.  Goal setting and visualization is powerful stuff and can have a big impact on whether or not students actually put in the time to work towards a goal or not.

You can use these worksheets to have your kids reflect and think through the impact that working towards their goal will have on their well being, mental state and also their future success in other areas of life.

I normally have my 4th and 5th graders complete this activity and then give the worksheet back to them a couple months before our end of year fitness testing to give them some time to get motivated and work towards the goals that they set for themselves at the beginning of the year.  I also let them review the Goal Setting Guide or the “Personal Fitness Plan” that they created at the beginning of the year, so they can reference the goals they set for themselves.

Hope it's helpful!
