Functional Vending Machine

This powerpoint is used to engage students before learning about functions. When you click on a number it will go to the coresponding candy. If you press the push button on the machine it will lead you to a table. You can ask the students is this a functional vending machine. They will say yes because if the press a button you get the candy in that spot. Explain and relate to them the definition of a math function. (Every input has exactly one output)

You can engage students even more by giving them candy like it is a real machine!
