What educators are saying

Helping me get the students the information they need when I'm new to a topic (Moved to HS bio for the first time) would recommend for first year to biology teacher.

Biology Lab Equipment:PowerPoint and Guided Notes (Digital & Printable)

    Description

    Bundle Description

This HUGE bundle covers an entire year of Biology plus more. The PowerPoints are accompanied by differentiated guided notes covering CHNOPS, biochemistry, cells, cell processes, DNA replication, transcription, translation, genetics, homeostasis, symbiosis, evolution, population genetics, taxonomy, ecology, ecological succession, biodiversity with human impacts, human anatomy, plant, and animal kingdoms.

Nearly all the guided notes come differentiated with a fill-in-the-blank option for when you are pressed for ie, need to modify for students with IEP, 504, or for students with handwriting challenges.

    The PowerPoints are all editable.

This is a growing bundle and you will also be notified when I update additional files.

I am in the process of providing both printable and digital formats for all student guided notes and worksheets. Many resources have already been converted, I am working daily to complete them all. The digital worksheet is great for online platforms such as Google Classroom, Schoology, or others. The digital fillable pdf form can be filled out using Adobe Acrobat, Lumen, Kami, or other free pdf-editing applications.

This download contains thirteen Biology orientated bundles covering biomolecules, cells, cellular hierarchy, cellular reproduction, mitosis & meiosis, photosynthesis & cellular respiration, homeostasis, biomes, genetics, evolution, population genetics, taxonomy, kingdoms, DNA replication, DNA synthesis, transcription & translation and a bonus bundle covering body systems.

Coloring pages have recently become a huge hit all over the world. In my new series of word wall coloring pages, you can bring the excitement of coloring into your middle school and high school science classrooms.

Word Walls are an instructional tool used primarily in the elementary classroom. While teaching in Texas my administrators decided they wanted secondary teachers to use the tool as well. It was a great success on many levels. Students took time learning about their word and creating a design for it. I always displayed all the words and the students took great pride in seeing their work displayed. The students also enjoyed looking at each other’s work. I noticed over time that my students would frequently look at the wall while we working. Especially during pop quizzes or bell work. The word wall truly helped my students to remember their vocabulary words and seeing them displayed all the time in class made it easier for them to refresh their memory when necessary.

I developed word wall coloring pages for my students who struggled with what to draw and write when working on word walls. I always offer a blank template for my self-motivated artists, but the coloring pages allowed my students who struggle with a means for creating a beautiful piece of word wall art as well.

My favorite way to use word walls includes after a test, to introduce new vocabulary in a relaxing format, sub work, or extra credit. They are also a fun way to revisit words students struggle with.

I hand illustrated each image to be coloring and photocopying friendly.

Use a model to illustrate how photosynthesis transforms light energy into stored chemical energy. Emphasis is on illustrating inputs and outputs of matter and the transfer and transformation of energy in photosynthesis by plants and other photosynthesizing organisms. Examples of models could include diagrams, chemical equations, and conceptual models. Assessment does not include specific biochemical steps.
    NGSSHS-LS2-3
Construct and revise an explanation based on evidence for the cycling of matter and flow of energy in aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Emphasis is on conceptual understanding of the role of aerobic and anaerobic respiration in different environments. Assessment does not include the specific chemical processes of either aerobic or anaerobic respiration.
    NGSSHS-LS2-7
Design, evaluate, and refine a solution for reducing the impacts of human activities on the environment and biodiversity. Examples of human activities can include urbanization, building dams, and dissemination of invasive species.
    NGSSHS-LS3-3
Apply concepts of statistics and probability to explain the variation and distribution of expressed traits in a population. Emphasis is on the use of mathematics to describe the probability of traits as it relates to genetic and environmental factors in the expression of traits. Assessment does not include Hardy-Weinberg calculations.
    NGSSHS-LS3-1
Ask questions to clarify relationships about the role of DNA and chromosomes in coding the instructions for characteristic traits passed from parents to offspring. Assessment does not include the phases of meiosis or the biochemical mechanism of specific steps in the process.
