Description

A food chain is a series of steps by which energy moves from one type of living thing to another. The food chain in this craftivity shows how energy from the sun is absorbed by a producer (seaweed), which is eaten by a primary consumer (orange fish), which is then eaten by a top predator (shark).
Terms that can be discussed using this craftivity:
producer, consumer, herbivore, carnivore, omnivore, predator, prey, ecosystem
Possible discussion questions:
what is the primary energy source?
how does the shark obtain energy? the fish? the seaweed?
what would happen if all the seaweed died? all the sharks died? all the fish?

This freebie includes: patterns for shark (trace onto blue paper), shark mouth (trace onto white paper), fish (trace onto orange paper), fish mouth (trace onto white paper), seaweed(trace onto green paper), sun(trace onto yellow paper)
