Description

Does your school celebrate Poem in Your Pocket Day? If not, you should! Have students carry poems in their pockets. Throughout the day, take turns reading the poems to each other. These would be so fun for reading buddies, too! This year, April 21st is Poem in Your Pocket Day.

Here are 32 FREE poems to print! I chose REAL poetry from the public domain from poets such as Emily Dickinson and William Wordsworth. I searched to find poems that students could relate to. The poems are on a variety of topics including nature and childhood. Some of the language is older, but your students are still able to enjoy them, and they may lead to excellent vocabulary discoveries! A perfect addition to your poetry month lessons!

Enjoy!
