What educators are saying

My students were able to quickly and accurately complete the task. The worksheets were not overly complex or confusing; they were straight to the point.

    Description

This fraction bundle includes OVER 50 NO PREP printables to reinforce basic fraction skills. It also includes 5-low-prep self-correcting Mystery Picture Activities to engage students and make learning fun! You will also receive a Pizza Fraction Math Center that includes all materials needed to provide students with an engaging and real-world experience to practice creating simple fractions.

    Specifically, this resource includes:

    • Fair Share Fractions Printable- Students cut out pictures of fractions and decide whether or not they are halves
    • Cut & Paste Fractions - Students cut out various fraction visuals and paste under the appropriate fraction column (halves, thirds, fourths)
    • Pages 4-5: Understanding Fractions - Students look at fraction visuals and record information about them (how many equal parts, how many parts shaded, what fraction is shaded?)
    • Cookie Fractions - Students color in the given fraction
    • Donut Fractions - Students color in the given fraction
    • Pizza Fractions - Students color in the given fraction
    • Froggy Fractions - Students color in the given fraction
    • Fraction Mazes I, II, & III - Students follow mazes (find halves, thirds and fourths) to a pot of gold
    • Cut & Paste Fractions (2 worksheets)- Students look at visuals and match with appropriate fractions
    • Gumball Fractions (2 versions) - Students create their own gumball machine using various colors and record the fractions
    • Gumball Fractions Practice Sheets (2 worksheets)- Students must color in gumball machines to match fractions given
    • Blooming Flower Fractions (2-worksheets) - Students create their own garden with various colors and record their fractions (students also write about their creation using sentences)
    • Flag Fractions (2-worksheets) - Students color in flags using fractions (create their own and follow directions)
    • Fractions of a Set (3-worksheets) - Students color in fractions of a set
    • Fractions on a Number Line (3-Differentiated worksheets) - Students must look at various number lines (they can label as well) and determine what fraction is represented by the clipart
    • Equivalent Fractions - Students color in two fraction bars to create equivalent fractions
    • Comparing Fractions I, Comparing Fractions II - Students compare fractions using visuals (one worksheet is pre-shaded, while the other requires students to model the comparison)
    • Fraction Word Problems - Fraction word problems (fractions of a whole) - designed for students who are ready for a challenge
    • Fraction Word Problems II - Fraction word problems (fractions of a set) - challenging
    • 13- Fraction Writing Prompts to get students writing in math! Students write about what they know, what they have learned and write about visuals given to them. Most writing prompts include a "word bank" to help students write about the topic.
    • 5-Mystery Picture Activities (recognizing fractions and matching to appropriate fraction)
    • 4-Tri-folds included (halves, thirds, fourths, and sixths) - students recognize, shade, create, partition and "spin and graph" fractions.
    • Frozen Fractions - 3-Worksheets where students look at ice cream "orders" and color the cones accordingly. Students also make up their own ice cream cone!

    The Pizza Math Center includes:

    • Six different toppings (cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, sausage and peppers). Each topping includes slices that are split into halves, thirds, fourths, sixths and eighths.
    • 60-pizza order forms! (56 of the order forms have a variety of pizza orders on them so that students can practice reading and creating fractions. 4 of the order forms are blank so that students or teachers can create their own pizza orders.)
    • 1-Recording Sheet (with a topping key so that students can sketch their pizza orders). Students will also get practice writing the fractions that they create as well.

This Pizza activity is great for a math center, a partner activity, for early-finishers, or even to send home as additional practice! This product does require some preparation (cutting), however, once it is set up, it can be used over and over again! You can laminate pieces or print on cardstock if you desire!

I hope you and your students enjoy this resource!

Any feedback that you have is always greatly appreciated!

Understand a fraction 1/𝘣 as the quantity formed by 1 part when a whole is partitioned into 𝘣 equal parts; understand a fraction 𝘢/𝑏 as the quantity formed by 𝘢 parts of size 1/𝘣.
Understand a fraction as a number on the number line; represent fractions on a number line diagram.
Explain equivalence of fractions in special cases, and compare fractions by reasoning about their size.
Understand two fractions as equivalent (equal) if they are the same size, or the same point on a number line.
Recognize and generate simple equivalent fractions, (e.g., 1/2 = 2/4, 4/6 = 2/3). Explain why the fractions are equivalent, e.g., by using a visual fraction model.
