Fractional Exponents for PDF and Socrative, 5 Assignments & Study Guide
Description
Update: I added Assignment #6B which is a 30 question assignment. The student finds values like 8^(2/3), solves equations like4^x=32, converts from fractional form to radical form and simplifies expressions with fractional exponents.
Included in this zip folder are 6 PDF files. 5 are assignments and 1 is a reference. A brief description of each:
Assignment #1 is a 20 question multiple choice assignment. The emphasis is on fractional exponents with whole number bases. Some problems are in radical form and some are in exponent form. Some answers are irrational and option āEā is irrational on each problem. The assignment is on 1 page for easy printing. The Socrative share number is at the top of the page.
Assignment #1A is like #1
Assignment #2 is a 20 question multiple choice assignment. The emphasis is on fractional exponents with variables. The student must be able to convert radical form to fractional exponent form and vice versa. The assignment is on 1 page for easy printing. The Socrative share number is at the top of the page.
Assignemtn #2A is like #2
Assignment #3 is a 20 question multiple choice assignment. The emphasis is on fractional exponents with variables. The student must be able to convert radical expressions to fractional exponents and then use the properties of exponents to simplify by multiplying, dividing and using powers. The student should learn the same algebra applies to these fractional exponents and the same order of operations apply as whole number exponents. The Socrative share number is at the top of the page.
