What educators are saying

This is a great resource! I used it as an elaboratorive exercise. Great student engagement and an awesome way to assess student learning

Description

This activity provides students with energy practice! it starts with identifying different forms of energy in common life scenarios and items: mechanical, kinetic, potential, heat/thermal, radiant/light, sound, electrical, nuclear and chemical. It then moves on to identifying energy transformations: the starting form and the final form. The practice is best used after the "Energy Powerpoint" and the "Energy Guided Notes". I find it important to scaffhold the practice - to do a few of each type of problem together as a class, some with partners/groups, and maybe some individual. The practice is interesting and real-life relevant - as well as rigorous. The content standards-aligned to 7th-grade essential standards (Energy Unit).
