    The Forensic Science lesson over DEATH MEANING, MANNER, AND MECHANISM allows students to understand the 5 manners of death, identify the cause of death, and understand the mechanism behind death with a lecture while completing fill-in-the-blank notes, then completing a worksheet where they read 4 scenarios and identify the manner, cause, and mechanism. Then, they create their own scenarios for each of the 5 manners of death.

    This product contains:

    • 20-slide PPT lecture
    • 4-page guided student notes (with included teacher key)
    • 4-page worksheet with key
    • Digital access for distance learning (the ppt, notes, and worksheet are the exact same as in-person learners!)

    This Forensic Science lesson over TIME OF DEATH allows students to understand how time of death can be estimated using livor mortis, rigor mortis, algor mortis, rates of decomposition, insect activity, and temperature of the body. The lesson utilizes a PowerPoint lecture with accompanying fill-in-the-blank notes. In addition, there is a worksheet where students can practice estimating time of death using their newly gained knowledge.

    This NO-PREP Forensic Science Autopsy Lab uses follows the saga of Dr. Lee Cooper with this forensic post-mortem lab! Find out how Dr. Cooper died by reviewing the findings from the first responders report, the crime scene investigators report, and your own autopsy analysis. Students will complete the investigation by filling out the autopsy report and determining the order of events that led to the demise of Dr. Cooper!

    You can choose to complete this lab in-person OR have your students complete the lab virtually through Google Classroom. The Google Slide lab AND answer document are included! Since it is 100% paper based, simply make copies, show the presentation to the class (OR give each student a printed information packet) and sit back while their brains to the work!
