What educators are saying

My students had an absolutely amazing time with this activity. My favorite part was having them swap and try to figure out where the other groups fire started. Highly recommend!
My students had a BLAST with this! They even came up with ways to modify it for how they thought it would work better! It was so much fun to watch them collaborate and work through this process! I highly recommend this!

Description

Are you ready to take your forensic science classroom to the next level? If you are looking for an amazing, hands-on arson project and you are brave enough to let out the inner arsonist in your students, this Forensic Arson PBL experience is for you.

This is the project that my students look forward to all year long. They have the opportunity to become the arsonist to create a crime scene and then put their CSI knowledge to the test as they analyze another crime scene created by their peers. They will interview suspects, take pictures, and create a crime report based on their observations and evidence.

Of course, ff you're not ready for your classroom to burst into flames, you could always create your own arson scenes and skip right to the CSI analysis.

With your purchase, you will receive a 26-page PDF complete with teacher instructions, a minimal shopping list (with links), tricks & tips, 8 student pages, exemplars, and pictures. I've also included Google links to CSI badges that you can personalize for your students along with a version of the 8-page student packet that your students can type on for use in Google Classroom.
