What educators are saying

This resource was a great visual for my EL students. My students were engaged in the activity. It was also used as a informal assessment.
Effective and practical way for student to demonstrate understanding between consumers, producers and decomposers.

Description

A fun sorting activity for students to practice, reinforce, and show what they have learned about Producers, Consumers, and Decomposers in a food chain! Great way to assess students!

Sorting Cards were created with ELL students and higher level thinking in mind. All pictures include a label. Descriptions cards make students think about what it truly means to be classified as a producer, consumer, and decomposer. Question Cards help students think about each sorting card they pick up.

Game can be played individually, with a partner, or in a small group.
The task cards provide questions for students to ask themselves, their partner, or their group for each sorting card they pick up! This extends their thinking and creates an environment where discussion plays a key role in student learning.

Students love playing with sorting games. They learn best when they are provided with hands on activities! Print these on card-stock and laminate and use them for years to come!

*Great for individual students, group work activities, and science centers!!*
