I used this activity in a cultures class to look at different foods around the world. Students were very interested in this activity and learning about their chosen country's foods. It was easy to use and easy to adapt to my needs!

Description

Students work individually or in pairs to research a country (of their choice or assigned) and present the information. The project checklist is editable to meet the needs of your class.

The project checklist has students explore a countries unique cuisine including:

  • The countries location and how that affects cuisine.
  • common ingredients from various food groups.
  • authentic recipe (can be cooked for a follow-up activity).
  • foods used for celebrations or religious ceremonies.
  • comparing the countries cuisine to American meals.

Includes links to two internet website resources for research.

Also includes a student note page to fill out while watching 4 classmates' presentations (can be edited).
