What educators are saying
Description
Give your students a fun, engaging listening assignment to identify 15 different sounds created by Foley artists. Foley sound involves creating and performing everyday sounds for movies, television shows and radio.
For this activity, the instructor will play 15 sounds (downloadable files included in this activity) for students to write down what they believe they are hearing. One example is rain being heard - but it's actually bacon sizzling on a griddle. After the first listen, the instructor can guide a discussion about what students wrote, then play every sound again for a truth reveal! An instructor's guide with the answers is included. Have fun with Foley!
