Description

Ideal for creative writing electives, after-school creative writing clubs, as "Do Nows or Bellringers," or as a means for developing longer narrative pieces in Language Arts or English classes, the slideshow, "Flash Fiction: 24 Creative Writing Prompts for Students", offers 24 engaging, and thought-provoking Flash Fiction prompts with both pictures and written prompts, a guide to using them in the classroom, links to four professional authors' Flash Fiction stories, and information on Flash Fiction and instructions for students.

Teachers can use the slides over 24 periods or pick and choose. Although labeled as Flash Fiction, the prompts can also be used as a creative jumpstart before students write longer narrative pieces such as short stories.

Suitable for all 6th to 12th-grade students, including GATE, RSP, and ELL students.
