What educators are saying

This is a great resource for the student who loves gaming but dislikes traditional homework- Thanks for helping me engage my student!

Description

Non-fiction text types are always difficult for my students to learn. I created this packet as a way to increase student engagement as they learn about the five text types: description, sequence, comparison, cause & effect, and problem & solution.

For each of the five text types, there is a definition, a Minecraft inspired reading passage, a list of signal words, and a graphic organizer.

Students read the passages and complete the graphic organizers for each text type. I have also included a blank graphic organizer for each of the five text types for you to use with other examples of your own. My kids are crazy for Minecraft, so I decided to take advantage of their excitement by combining their learning of these with a topic they are sure to love!

Check out the PREVIEW file for a sample of one of the five text types!
