Bundle Teacher Guide and Full Week Schedule

    Description

A bundle of resources to teach firsthand and secondhand accounts as well as primary and secondary sources. Your students will get a wide mix of activities to understand this concept. FULLY DIGITAL and printable options included in ONE great price! Low-prep and straight forward with detailed directions for the teacher. One week of learning!

    Included:

    1. Classroom Posters. Use these as a guide to make your anchor charts and then keep these posted in your rooms for quick reference.

    2. Interactive Notebooks Page: Students can fill this out and glue it in a notebook or 3 hold punch it for a binder/folder. ANSWER KEY INCLUDED.

    3. Large Sort: 26-piece sort that has short stories, keywords, and definitions. Students can work in groups/partners to sort these into firsthand accounts or secondhand accounts. (Also has primary and secondary source cards to sort) ANSWER KEY INCLUDED.

    4. Primary vs. Secondary Sources Cards: Hide these cards around the classroom and let students be "detectives." Students can go around with the included recording sheet to decide if the source is a primary or secondary source. ANSWER KEY INCLUDED.

    5. Writing Choice Board: Assign the students tasks, let them choose, or even do a tic tac toe! Students write firsthand or secondhand accounts based on the choice board. I also included some simpler options like drawing a firsthand account with a brief description for students who may need a shortened writing assignment. Perfect for differentiation.

    6. 2 Practice Pages: Let students be detectives to crack the code as they learn the difference between firsthand and secondhand accounts. Then have them switch over to being "super sleuths" while they work their way through a maze of primary and secondary sources.

    7. Assessments: Included are TWO quizzes! 1 on firsthand vs secondhand passages as well as a primary vs secondary source sort.

    8. Primary and secondary sources DIGITAL self checking mazes (2 included)

    9. Firsthand and secondhand accounts DIGITAL self checking maze (1)

BONUS FILE: I've also included a one week outline for how I use all these products together through out the week!

Please note that all activities (except the posters) are included in a PDF and a FULLY DIGITAL option through Google Slides. The DIGITAL mazes are only digital. There are detailed directions included on how to access the Google Slides for each activity. From there you may choose to assign it in Google Classroom, or the digital platform of your choice. The digital option is also great in a brick and mortar setting if your students have access to computers.

This bundle gets students up moving, working in groups, writing, gives choices and will keep your busy learners engaged while meeting the demands of rigor!
