First Grade Weekly Oral Assessment

This product includes 8 oral assessments for 1st Grade Common Core standards. Each assessment evaluates students' abilities for the following "I Can" statements:

*I can decode one-syllable words
*I can decode two-syllable words
*I can count to 120
*I can speak in a complete sentence
*I can read with accuracy, fluency, and expression
*I can read with purpose and understanding

In addition to word lists and question prompts, each assessment includes a fluency passage and corresponding comprehension questions. A standards-based rubric is included for each question-type.

This assessment was a great practice for students and was very beneficial for me in my first grade classroom. I was fortunate to have a classroom aide who would assess each student individually throughout the week using this assessment.

Note: The fluency passages are adapted from first grade level Reading A-Z passages, the comprehension questions were created by myself.
