First Grade Addition Timed Tests- Math Fact Fluency- Addition Within 10

Use these first grade addition timed tests (also known as math sprints, mad minutes, or speed drills) to help your students master addition math fact fluency within 10.

This file includes 15 one-minute timed quizzes to assess math fact fluency of addition facts from 0-10. Timed tests are organized as follows:

1. Adding 0
2. Adding 1
3. Review
4. Adding 0 and 1 Related Facts
5. Review
6. Adding 2
7. Adding 2 related facts
8. Review
9. Addition Doubles (2 options are available to learn doubles within 10 or doubles within 20)
10. Doubles +1 and Related Facts
11. Review
12. Adding 3 and 4
13. Adding 3 and 4 Related Facts
14. Review

These tests should not be administered until students have a solid understanding of addition through the use of manipulatives, learning centers, and other paper-and-pencil activities. Although they are called “timed tests,” they do not necessarily need to be timed.

This file also includes class record forms for the teacher to keep track of student progress. In addition, student record forms are included for students to keep in a notebook or binder so they are able to track their progress. On these forms, students color in an apple for each set of addition facts they have mastered.
