Description

This engaging Ancient China social studies project focuses on Qin Shihuangdi, the first emperor of China and requires students to come to the conclusion as to whether he was a hero or a villain. Students must use evidence to form an opinion about this controversial, historical figure then choose to present their view in one of two forms, as a poster or a dialogue

Students can choose to work independently or collaboratively with either project. If students choose to complete the poster, they will include a combination of writing and original illustrations to represent Qin Shihuangdi as a hero and villain. If they choose to complete the dialogue, students will write a detailed and interesting conversation between two people, one who views Qin Shihuangdi as a hero and the other who views him as a villain.

Included in this Chinese emperor project resource:

  • An explanation and list of requirements for both options (poster or dialogue)
  • A note-taking guide
  • Two rubrics

Here's what my happy customers are saying about this resource:

“My students found this engaging and enjoyed learning about the emperor and it helped to prepare them for argument writing.”

“I love the view from both sides. Really makes students think.“
