Description

First Days of School - People Bingo - MATH EDITION - Grades 2, 3, 4 Common Core Aligned (Written in English)

* Hop, Jog, and Wiggle While Doing Math!

Math and movement! People Bingo – Math Edition is a fun activity during the first days of school to break the ice and get your students talking, thinking, and moving. Imagine your students hopping, jogging, and wiggling while doing math!

* Contents

You will be able to use this product for multiple grades and with different size classes for several years. There are 6 Bingo boards for each grade, which include 3 boards with actions and 3 boards with the same questions, but no actions. The 3 Bingo boards have 20, 24, or 28 boxes, depending on the number of students in your class. There are 18 boards in total in this collection and 3 answer keys.

I have included a list of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics for Grades 2, 3, and 4 that I have used in each Bingo board. Each Bingo board contains questions from all the domains. (Please see the list of standards by downloading the PREVIEW.)

* How to Play

Photocopy a game board for each student. Students have to speak to each person in the class to find someone who can answer the questions on the board while doing an action.The actions make this activity more motivating, especially for your kinesthetic learners. Plus, many students learn better while moving and interacting with other students. The answers are said aloud or written on the Bingo board.

EXAMPLES OF QUESTIONS/DIRECTIONS ON THE BINGO BOARD:

"Find someone who can mentally add 8 + 7 while wiggling like a worm." (Grade 2)

"Find someone who can draw 3 examples of quadrilaterals while rubbing his/her tummy." (Grade 3)

"Find someone who can multiply 4 x 2,408 while pretending to twirl a lasso." (Grade 4)

* When to Use this Activity

You can use this activity at the beginning of the year to review the concepts learned in the grade before or to use as a diagnostic tool to assess what students already know. This activity could also be used at the end of the year to review concepts.

Hope your students have fun! You should also run, skate, and wiggle too!
